Irvine & Roberts’ Gamay Noir showcases the high-elevation, cool-climate potential of Rogue Valley. Their estate vineyards—perched at about 2,100 ft at the confluence of the Cascade and Siskiyou ranges—offer volcanic sandstone and river-deposit soils that impart structure and freshness to this varietal. Farming is done sustainably, with minimal intervention to highlight the Purity of site and grape. 

 

TASTING NOTES: Pours bright with a light ruby hue. Aromatics are expressive, featuring ripe French plum, cherry liqueur, and exotic spice like cardamom. On the palate, vibrant red fruit and spice emerge—cranberry, plum, and subtle pepper—with balanced structure and soft, approachable tannins.

 

FOOD PAIRINGS: Pairs wonderfully with earthy and rustic dishes such as mushroom risotto, herb-roasted chicken, pork with fruit compote, and light charcuterie. Also fantastic with game and alpine cheeses.
