PORTUGAL (BAIRRADA) 60% Baga, 40% Touriga Naçional ABV: 12.5%
From one of Portugal’s most historic producers, Caves São João crafts this elegant traditional-method rosé sparkling wine just 12 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The cooling maritime winds and limestone-clay soils of Bairrada lend vibrancy and finesse, while native grapes Baga and Touriga Naçional bring floral aromatics and bright red fruit. Aged 12 months on the lees before disgorgement, the result is a polished and food-friendly sparkler that balances richness with refreshing acidity.
TASTING NOTES: Delicate rose hue with a fine, persistent mousse. Aromas of rose petals, wild strawberry, and red raspberry intertwine with hints of mineral and white pepper. The palate is silky and vibrant, offering a rich mid-palate framed by racy acidity and a long, floral finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Perfect as an aperitif or paired with shellfish, fried seafood, tempura, or spicy Asian dishes. Its crisp structure and soft texture make it an ideal companion for any celebration.
Louis Roederer, founded in 1776, remains one of the few family-owned Champagne houses. The 2015 Brut Rosé is crafted from estate-grown fruit, showcasing the house’s dedication to refined and expressive Champagnes.
