Ayoub "Memoirs" Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2020

Oregon
100% Pinot Noir

From the producer:
"This blend of Pinot Noir was created from select vineyards in the Willamette Valley. The 2020 label features a picture of our beloved dog Milano who left us after 14 years. He was much more than a pet, a member of our family and he’ll be missed. Wish you all good health.

Thanks to mother nature, the 2020 Memoirs is only Pinot Noir I made from the 2020 vintage.  It is a blend of the best barrels of Pinot Noir crafted from all the vineyards I source my fruit from.
The nose is perfumed with black cherry, graham cracker, nutmeg and allspice.  Spicy and vibrant on the palate, with layers of black and red fruit.  It's a beautiful & complex wine that is approachable young.  Drink now to 2026."

TASTING NOTES: Beautiful forward fruit—succulent black cherry and red plum up front—meets Murto spice and subtle Dundee Hills earth notes. Fantastic flavor persistence and like the Estate Reserve '18, this is cloaked in such a flowing robe of fruit that the structure melts into the wine.

CHO Pinot Noir 2022

A lovely pale straw hue, this can stand alongside your Pinot Noir rosé, though the designation as a blanc may refer to the whole cluster pressing that initiated fermentation. It's juicy and full-bodied, with pretty white peach fruit edged with celery and amped up with acidity.

We love to pair our 2020 CHO Pinot Noir Blanc with miso crusted cod and Pad Ka Prao. The mouthwatering acidity cuts through the fattiness in the cod and plays with the umami of miso. Pad Ka Prao has a nice spice flavor profile like many Thai dishes.

Day Wines Deep Blue Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2021

Oregon

100% Pinot Noir

13.0%

Natural Wine

Deep Blue is our first Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, as opposed to our single vineyard offerings. We sourced fruit from our two primary Pinot Noir producers: Momtazi & Johan Vineyards, both Demeter-certified Biodynamic sites that produce drastically distinct wines. We questioned if the two sites could possibly coexist in a complimentary way and were stunned by the harmony of the vineyards’ opposing characteristics melding together in true yin and yang fashion.

A parallel story of balance is the wine’s blend of two vintages: 2019 and 2020. Blue agreeably showcases 2019’s sweet herb & floral characteristics as well as 2020’s developed fruit notes. Think ripe berries, incense and baking spice. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Deep Blue will be donated to organizations who promote the restoration of our oceans. It is important to us to continually offer wines that can promote and support causes we believe in.

Iruai "Tierra Extraña" Cabernet Franc 2023

"The perfect 'Summer Red Wine' is a mysterious and elusive creature. I love to start a night off with a lighter bodied / "chillable" red, but despite their maximum drinkability, I don't really consider them the perfect Summer Red Wine. The thing is, when it's Summer here in the mountains you want a red wine that you can drink with something hearty from the grill and into the night around the fire as things cool down fast.

For me the perfect Summer red, from riverside to camp fire is whole cluster Cab Franc. When you're dipping into your third night cap, and looking for your jacket on a high mountain Summer's night, you'll want 'Tierra Extraña' Cab Franc in your glass. Whole Cluster fermentation and extended maceration bring a bounty of pepper and perfume, uninhibited by stewy extraction, but rather infused with juicy coastal blackberry, head shop aromatics and underpinned with a deep ethereal earthiness.

Enjoy by: drinking out of an enamel camping mug and stargazing by the fire.

An intrinsically drinkable cult classic over the last 40+ vintages, Kiona Estate Lemberger revels in its unorthodoxy. This compelling, medium-bodied, fruit-forward bottling pairs easily with food, offering a rewarding break from the mundane. An extremely gentle neutral oak èlevage for the 2021 version translates to minimal oak influence, allowing the fruit to shine.

TASTING NOTES: Pale ruby in color with aromas of black cherry, it hits the palate with lots of fruit flavor. Not overly tannic, you are immediately met with plum, black cherry, red licorice, and pinecone.

Loop de Loop Columbia Valley Birdsong Syrah 2021

Columbia Valley
Syrah
13%

Just 25 miles east of our vineyard is a much warmer and drier climate. We love the Gorge for its dynamic diversity which allows us to work with a diverse amount of varietals.

This syrah was fermented with wild yeasts, 50% whole cluster. It received pigéage daily, twice daily during peak fermentation. Minimal intervention in the cellar, we did not add sulfur until after malolactic fermentation was complete. It rested on the lees in 2 burgundy barrels for 10 months before hand-bottling unfined and unfiltered in our cellar. Less than 20 ppm so2 and nothing else added.

Violets, Provençal herbs and cracked pepper on the nose, the palate is full and explosive with supple dark fruit & ripe black currant leading way to white pepper & prosciutto with a dusty long finish.

We love Chinon & the wines of France's Loire Valley. We strive to produce old world cabernet franc inspired by the wines from this region. This wine was fermented destemmed, with pigeage and no punchdown tools or pumps. It only recieved less than 30 ppm sulfur after the secondary fermentation was complete and was bottled unfined and unfiltered. This wine was aged in one puncheon and 1 barrique. It is scented with fresh herbs, black tea and violets, and tapenade. It is medium - full bodied and has a lovely balance of fruit and acidity.

Love & Squalor Pinot Noir Reserve 2017

Willamette Valley, Oregon
100% Pinot Noir
LIVE Certified
13.5%

The 2017 Pinot Noir Reserve (FKA Antsy Pants). OK, the madras patchwork pants are still hanging on the label, but we outgrew the cheeky name. This limited 50-case bottling is a blended barrel selection from Vista Hills Vineyard in the Dundee Hills and Temperance Hill Vineyard in the Eola Hills. These are both top-notch sites that never disappoint.

This is a reserve wine, whatever that means, but the style is not typical - bolder, more oak - that we may be accustomed to. These are barrels that show great promise when young, but are like a rider on the horizon and we may have to wait a while before the true shape of the wine comes into focus.

This winery has always been dedicated to the concept of the highest level quality without necessarily attaching a corresponding price point. Patty and I always wanted to have a winery that made wines that we liked to drink, but more importantly a winery that had wines we would, were we the customer, feel good about paying for.

TASTING NOTES: Brilliant red. Spice-tinged raspberry and cherry aromas are complicated by cola, floral and smoky mineral notes. Sweet and focused on the palate, offering energetic red berry flavors and suggestions of rose pastille and blood orange that build with air. Unico Zelo Fresh AF Nero D'Avola 2023

Riverland, Australia
Nero d'Avola 65%, Grenache 25%, Zibibbo 10%
12%
Certified B Corp

Few wine ventures are as committed to the idea of sustainability as Brendan and Laura from Unico Zelo. Their championing of Italian varieties, particularly Nero d'Avola and Fiano, comes from their belief in their suitability to Australia.

Nero is a particularly hardy grape and it thrives in warm, dry climates. So, here they take the fruit from one of the warmest and driest regions in the country and make a glugable, slurpable red which is ideal quaffing for just about any night of the week.

This is their brightest and freshest feeling Nero blend to date. The Grenache adds some flavour and oomph, while a dash of old vine Zibbibo (white wine) adds lift and a super zippy crunch of acidity. It's great drinking at a great price and a little left of centre. More inventive stuff from this energetic couple.
