Livio Felluga, often referred to as the "Patriarch of Friulian Wines," established his winery in the 1950s, revitalizing the region's viticulture. The estate spans 130 hectares, with vineyards rooted in the distinctive Ponca soil, contributing to the unique tanginess and minerality of their wines.
TASTING NOTES: The 2022 Friulano presents a luminous straw-yellow hue with golden reflections. Its bouquet is piquant and complex, intertwining fruity and floral aromas. Notes of ginger and medicinal herbs accompany citrus fruits, quince, nectarines, and dried papaya, accented by floral hints of calla lilies and broom. On the palate, it is smooth and stylish, offering generous, mouth-filling fruity sensations that linger to a finish rich in citrus notes and a pleasing echo of mineral hints.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Traditionally served as an aperitif, this Friulano pairs perfectly with cured meats like prosciutto di San Daniele, salami, and sausages. It also complements fresh, full-fat cheeses such as Montasio and goat cheese. The wine’s minerality and citrus notes make it a pleasant accompaniment to fish dishes, shellfish soups, and white meats. It also pairs well with some Asian recipes, including Thai dishes and Indian chicken dishes.
