Mateus Nicolau de Almeida—a fifth-generation Douro winemaker—introduced the Trans Douro Express series to showcase the region’s diversity. The Cima Corgo bottling combines four native red grapes sourced from mid-valley schist soils.
TASTING NOTES: Medium-bodied with a ruby hue. Aromas of juicy red berries, wet grass, white pepper, eucalyptus, and fresh herbs. The palate is fluid, balanced, and mineral-driven, featuring bright acidity, soft (but present) tannins, and a persistent, savory finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: A versatile table wine—ideal with red meat dishes, roasted venison, lamb stews, grilled vegetables, and aged cheeses.
