In 1971 André Berenger came to Cahors from Provence with his wife Sylvie, who is originally from Champagne, and planted their vineyard near Grézels, on the red clay/iron stone soil known as Grèzes. Their two children, Maurin & Juline not only joined them in the family business but brought in their respective spouses. Moreover, Maurin, and his wife, Marlène, are graduates of oenology school.
TASTING NOTES: This strawberry-laced Malbec is such a delight it's the Ford-Lau house wine of summer. It hits that zone where it's super delicious and affordable for great wine. This is in the more classical vein vs. the natty vein. A patio pounder on its own with a rounder profile yet light on the palate with a pretty pink strawberry hue can be drunk alone or with bbq or a nice summer salad. It honestly can go with nearly everything!
FOOD PAIRINGS: Ideal for salads with some kind of protein such as Caesar Salad and Italian antipasti. It even goes well with Mediterranean dishes such as babaganoush, hummus, tabbouleh and falafel salad.
