The 2021 Piedrasassi "PS" Syrah is a compelling expression of cool-climate Syrah from Santa Barbara County. Sourced from esteemed vineyards such as Sebastiano in the Sta. Rita Hills, Bien Nacido in the Santa Maria Valley, and Harrison Clarke in Ballard Canyon, this wine reflects the diverse terroirs of the region. Winemaker Sashi Moorman employs indigenous fermentation in open concrete tanks and ages the wine in neutral French oak, resulting in a Syrah that is both expressive and balanced.

 

TASTING NOTES: This Syrah offers a complex bouquet of black raspberries, candied blackberries, cracked pepper, smoked meats, and green olive. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with bright acidity and a chalky texture, showcasing restrained yet nuanced fruit flavors and a long, latent finish.
