Produced under the Lunaria label of Cantina Orsogna, a cooperative founded in 1964 with over 600 family growers in Abruzzo’s Majella foothills, the 2018 Coste di Moro Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is a flagship expression of the region. Certified biodynamic since 2005, the wine is made with organic fruit, fermented naturally in stainless steel and oak, and aged briefly before release.
TASTING NOTES: Deep, opaque ruby-red in the glass. The nose bursts with ripe red fruit, black cherry jam, and subtle hints of cocoa and toast. On the palate it’s warm and richly textured, with pronounced tannins balanced by a soft, intense fruit core and a classic almond-tinged finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Perfect alongside robust fare such as grilled or roasted meats, aged Pecorino cheese, tomato-based pasta, and cured salumi—its intensity and structure stand up to hearty Italian dishes.
