Baudry-Dutour, a collaborative winery in the Loire Valley, specializes in crafting expressive Cabernet Franc wines that embody the essence of the Chinon appellation. The 2020 "Amaranthe" Chinon Rouge is produced from old-vine Cabernet Franc parcels selected for their siliceous-clayey soils on the old terraces of the Vienne River. The grapes are hand-harvested and 100% destemmed before undergoing a cold soak and fermentation. Approximately 50% of the wine is aged in tank, while the remaining 50% is aged in oak barrels to enhance complexity.

TASTING NOTES: The wine exhibits a lifted, piercing cherry fruit perfume, with notes of crushed raspberry coulis and wild strawberry essence. On the palate, it is dry, balanced, and medium-bodied, featuring finely edged, chalky light tannins and a flavorful profile.
