Viña Alberdi is produced by La Rioja Alta, one of the most esteemed traditional producers in the Rioja region. Based in Haro, in the heart of Rioja Alta, the estate is known for its commitment to extended aging and meticulous cellar practices. The grapes for this Reserva come from estate-owned vineyards situated at high elevation, offering excellent diurnal range and slow ripening. After fermentation, the wine is aged for two years in American oak—new for the first year, and second-use for the second—followed by additional bottle aging before release.

 

TASTING NOTES: Cherry-red in color with a garnet rim, the wine opens with aromas of ripe red fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, and tobacco leaf. On the palate, it is elegant and medium-bodied, with balanced acidity, fine tannins, and layers of dried cherry, spice, and leather. A hallmark of classic Rioja with generous fruit and evolved complexity.

 

FOOD PAIRINGS: Perfect with grilled lamb, roast pork, Spanish-style stews, Manchego cheese, and dishes seasoned with paprika or saffron.
