Evodia is produced by Altovinum, a collaboration between Eric Solomon, Jean-Marc Lafage, and Yolanda Diaz. The grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards (800-1,000 meters) in the village of Atea within the Calatayud DO. These vineyards, with vines aged between 40 to 100 years, are planted on slate and quartz over clay soils, contributing to the wine's distinctive minerality. ​

 

TASTING NOTES: The 2021 Evodia Garnacha presents a deep ruby/plum purple hue. It offers aromas of blueberry and black currant fruit, complemented by underlying crushed rock notes and floral scents. On the palate, it is intensely fruity with a smooth texture and a pure, fruit-filled finish. ​

 

FOOD PAIRINGS: This wine pairs well with roasted and grilled meats, stews, and blue cheeses.
