Oregon, (Yamhill-Carlton AVA)
100% Pinot Noir
14.1%
Stephen Goff Wines, established in 2012, focuses on producing small-lot Pinot Noir from select vineyards in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The 2017 Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir is sourced from a 1.57-acre section of Block 25, located on the far western edge of Shea's west hill. This early-ripening block is planted to the Wadensvil clone of Pinot Noir and is sustainably farmed.
TASTING NOTES: This wine offers a highly complex bouquet that evokes fresh red and blue fruits, exotic spices, and incense, with mineral and floral nuances building in the glass. On the palate, it delivers suave black raspberry, bitter cherry, candied rose, and spice cake flavors that show superb definition and spicy lift. The finish is outstanding, with floral-driven persistence, polished tannins, and reverberating fruit flavor.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Pairs excellently with roasted duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or soft cheeses.
