TASTING NOTES: The 2017 Pedestal Merlot offers a dense nose with aromas of blackberry pie, earthy tobacco, burnt caramel, and fresh leather, complemented by blue and black plums, dried violet flowers, and toasted cinnamon. On the palate, it is full-bodied and opulent, displaying layers of blue plums, red and black raspberry, cigar ash, tangerine zest, and cedar. The wine's medium-plus acidity and firm, chalky tannins suggest excellent aging potential.

 

FOOD PAIRINGS: This rich and complex Merlot pairs well with grilled lamb chops, beef tenderloin, wild mushroom risotto, and aged cheeses. Its bold flavors and structured tannins complement hearty dishes, making it a versatile choice for robust meals.
