Vinum Cellars, established in 1997 by Richard Bruno and Chris Condos, sources grapes from Wilson Farms in Clarksburg, a fourth-generation farm established in 1922. The 2021 'PETS' Petite Sirah showcases the winery's dedication to crafting expressive wines from this varietal.
TASTING NOTES: Dark, inky purple, almost black color. Intense aromas of blueberry and huckleberry fruit notes. Refined with a rich French oak barrel profile, integrated in the mid-palate, providing a silky platform for cassis spice and sappy vanilla flavors. Well-structured and full-bodied with elegant tannins, allowing the varietal's character to shine through. The finish is rich with dark chocolate, blackberry, and creamy Tahitian vanilla.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Pairs well with Mexican carnitas tacos spiced with cardamom and spicy chiles served with salsa fresca. Also complements grilled dishes like tri-tip, chops, filet mignon, and for vegetarians, an impossible burger made with grains and/or mushrooms.
