Calleri Vineyard is farmed by John Siletto, whose late father Ron Siletto was an integral figure in the history of San Benito County viticulture. The Silettos have been farming in the region for the past 30 years and now manage a total of 125 acres with over 30 planted varieties, most of them Italian and French varietals rarely seen in this country.

 

TASTING NOTES: This bottling comes off almost more like a cider than a wine, starting with a cloudy hue in the glass, making it look like a hazy rosé. Peppery and tart aromas of raspberry, tea and hibiscus lead from the nose into a zippy palate of brisk red fruit and tart citrus-peel elements. 

 

FOOD PAIRINGS: Mushrooms, (especially truffles, rare red meat, mild, meaty fish (e.g. swordfish, sole, cod)
