MEXICO (VALLE DE GUADALUPE, BAJA CALIFORNIA) 100% Tempranillo ABV: 13.5% Sustainably Farmed
From one of Mexico’s pioneering estates, this Tempranillo from L.A. Cetto proves that screwcaps and serious quality can coexist beautifully. Founded in 1928 and still family-owned, the winery farms exclusively estate-grown fruit, hand-harvested from sandy, granite, and clay soils in the Valle de Guadalupe. Aged nine months in French oak (30% new), this bottling shows the estate’s signature balance of ripe fruit, supple texture, and elegant structure.
TASTING NOTES: Toasted oak, bright cherry, and red fruit aromas mingle with notes of leather and wet stone. The palate is velvety and rich, showing blackberry jam, cured meat, coconut, and rosemary, framed by smooth tannins and a long, savory finish. Delicious now, with the potential to age gracefully for up to five years.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Pair with grilled lamb, smoky barbecue, or roasted vegetables. Also excellent alongside aged cheeses or tapas featuring chorizo and olives.
