Domaine Doreau is in Monthélie, a village in the Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy, 30 miles southwest of Dijon in eastern France. The small estate has been passed down from father to son since the end of the 19th Century.
TASTING NOTES: Aromas of red and black fruits, and notes of red fruit, black olive, and berry sauce.
FOOD PAIRINGS: roast poultry, in the thigh as well as in the fillet, roast lamb, rabbit. Roasted offal, such as sweetbreads, liver or grilled andouillettes will appreciate the firmness of Monthélie, meat pies will also enjoy this pairing. For the cheese, Brillat-Savarin, Brie, Reblochon.
