With the simple yellow label, the Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy 2022 Barbera d'Asti is relatively well contained, especially in a vintage that renders explosive and very exuberant Barbera-based wines. This expression comes from the Asti area, which usually means more fruit brightness, acidity and a more tapered mouthfeel.

 

TASTING NOTES: A bright, high-pitched red, featuring kirsch, raspberry and floral aromas and flavors. Firm yet balanced, picking up flashes of mineral as this builds to the lingering finish.

 

FOOD PAIRINGS: Pasta al pomodoro with salty ricotta cheese, fried eggplant, and fresh basil dishes.
