Carlos Serres, established in 1896, is one of the pioneering wineries in Haro, Rioja Alta. The 2016 Gran Reserva is crafted from grapes sourced from the estate's Finca El Estanque vineyard, characterized by chalky-clay soils with high gravel content. The wine is aged for 24 months in American and French oak barrels, followed by an additional 36 months of bottle aging before release.
TASTING NOTES: This Gran Reserva exhibits complex aromas of red and black fruit, leather, toast, and tobacco. On the palate, it is elegant with a harmonious balance of fruit and tertiary flavors, supported by silky tannins and a long, refined finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Pairs excellently with roasted meats, game, mature cheeses, and traditional Spanish dishes like lamb stew or grilled chorizo.
