Boekenhoutskloof, established in 1776 and revitalized in 1993, is a renowned winery located in Franschhoek, South Africa. The 2020 vintage of The Chocolate Block is sourced predominantly from their Porseleinberg and Goldmine farms in the Swartland region, reflecting the winery's commitment to expressing the unique terroir of these vineyards. ​

 

TASTING NOTES: The nose is dark and brooding, enticing with black fruit aromas and hints of pepper and spice. On the palate, flavors of blueberry and blackberry unfold, layered with dark plums, notes of dust, graphite, and cocoa nib. The wine is focused and elegant, with fresh yet integrated acidity and fine-grained tannins, leading to a silky finish lingering with black currant and milk chocolate nuances. ​
