Grapes have been grown on Colle Petruccio, the hill that the winery gets its name from, for thousands of years. The hill is next to the Etruscan / Roman archaeological site Roselle which was an important ancient town up until the Middle Ages. After a career in law, Sandro Ruffo left his profession to pursue his childhood passion of wine making. Sandro's philosophy is to farm and make wine the same way it has been done on this hill for millennium.
TASTING NOTES: On the nose, the wine starts with tangerine, salted apricot, jasmine and a hint of butterscotch. The palate offers more ripe peach and tangerine and mango fruit with a note of citric acidity that carries all the way through to the finish. Simple, unctuous, and deliciously easy to drink, this wine is as perfect for the porch as it is the dinner table.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Herbal and savory pasta dishes, asparagus.
