A bold, lively and expressive Shiraz, the 2018 Carnival of Love begins with raspberry and cassis leading the aromatics, with soft hints of butterscotch. The red fruits are rich with layers of toffee and coconut weaving through the darker plummy fruit that fills the palate. Mocha and spice add more dimensions to an already impressive array of flavours, creating a true celebration of single vineyard McLaren Vale Shiraz.

Mollydooker is a modern Australian winery founded in 2005 by Sarah and Sparky Marquis on Seaview Ridge in McLaren Vale. The Carnival of Love is their flagship Shiraz—vines planted in the prime Gateway Vineyard deliver deeply concentrated fruit. The 2018 vintage was barrel‑fermented and matured entirely in new American oak, with meticulous winemaking aimed at expressing both power and finesse.

TASTING NOTES: Deep, inky red with aromas of raspberry, cassis, mocha, and baking spices. The palate is full-bodied and rich, offering dark fruit (blackberry, plum), espresso, dark chocolate, toasted cedar, and white pepper. Fine but firm tannins support a layered, velvety finish, rich yet balanced.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Excellent with grilled beef, lamb, venison, or barbecue dishes. Also complements smoked meats, spicy ribs, and aged hard cheeses.
